Job summary

RBC is seeking a DevOps Engineering Lead to shape and guide scalable, secure infrastructure across development and production environments. You will design, automate, and optimize CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native services while mentoring engineers and advancing DevOps practices.

You will collaborate with product teams to ensure resilient platforms, implement robust security controls, and stay ahead of evolving technologies in cloud computing and platform engineering.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of DevOps, platform engineering, or related fields with proven scalable infrastructure experience.
• Hands-on in Java, TypeScript, Python, Shell scripting, and cloud-based distributed apps (OpenShift, Azure, Docker).
• Deep Kubernetes expertise and ability to design complex environments.
• Strong CI/CD pipelines experience with GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Maven, and testing frameworks.
• Experience with web-app architectures (Angular/AngularJS) and backend integration.

What is the Opportunity?

As a Devops Engineering Lead, provide direction and engineering support through the process of agile software development.

What will you do?

• Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of scalable, secure, and high-performance infrastructure to support development and production environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to design and implement CI/CD pipelines that enable seamless and efficient delivery of software.
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and deployment processes to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize system performance, ensuring high availability and reliability of platforms and services.
• Drive the adoption of DevOps best practices, tools, and methodologies across the organization to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
• Design and implement robust security practices, including vulnerability management, access control, and compliance with industry standards.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented team environment.
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in DevOps, cloud computing, and platform engineering, and identify opportunities to incorporate them into the organization’s infrastructure.

What do you need to succeed?

Must Haves

• 10+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or related fields, with a proven track record of delivering scalable and reliable infrastructure solutions.
• Strong programming skills with at least 10+ years of hands‑on experience in languages such as Java, TypeScript, Python, Shell scripting, or batch processing, and expertise in developing distributed cloud applications (OpenShift, Azure, Docker).
• Deep Kubernetes expertise, including a thorough understanding of its components (Deployments, Services, HPA, ConfigMaps, Secrets, etc.) and the ability to design and manage complex Kubernetes-based environments.
• Proficiency in DevOps pipelines and CI/CD tools, such as GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Maven, and experience with automated testing frameworks (unit, functional, and performance testing).
• Comprehensive knowledge of web-based application architectures and frameworks, including Angular or AngularJS, and how they integrate with backend services.

Nice-to-haves:

• Object Oriented coding practices, including strong design patterns knowledge, refactoring, clean code.
• Experience working with Kafka, MySQL, Non-relational databases, Caching
• Experience in BDD and TDD methodologies
• Working experience in one or more of: Algorithm design and optimization, AI tools, RDBMS and/or modern scale-out repositories (MySQL, MongoDB, Redis), Kafka.
