Job summary

S&P Global Market Intelligence seeks a DevOps Engineer to join the PVRDevOps team in Canada. The role focuses on building functional systems to enhance customer experience, creating infrastructure, and maintaining live applications.

Responsibilities include deploying enterprise applications on AWS, implementing IaC with Terraform, and enabling CI/CD pipelines while ensuring security, cost efficiency, and scalability across global platforms.

Qualifications

  • 3-5 years of experience in Linux/Unix Administration in IaaS / PaaS / SaaS models.

Responsibilities

  • Creating infrastructure and environments to support platforms using Terraform and related technologies to ensure environments are controlled and consistent.
  • Implementing DevOps technologies and processes, e.g.: containerisation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, metrics, monitoring.
  • Automating processes and maintaining live running infrastructure.
  • Maintaining health of cloud accounts for security, cost and best practices.
  • Providing assistance to development, testing and client services.

Duties & accountabilities

The role of DevOps Engineer is primarily focused on building functional systems that improve our customer experience. Responsibilities include:

  • Creating infrastructure and environments to support our platforms and applications using Terraform and related technologies to ensure all our environments are controlled and consistent.
  • Implementing DevOps technologies and processes,e.g: containerisation, CI/CD, infrastructure as code, metrics, monitoring etc
  • Automating always
  • Supporting, monitoring,maintainingand improving our infrastructure and the live running of our applications
  • Maintaining the health of cloud accounts for security,costand best practices
  • Providing assistance toother functional areas such as development,testand client services.

Compensation/Benefits Information: (This section is only applicable to Canadian Candidates:)

S&P Global states that the anticipated range of compensation for this position is 75,000 CAD to 108,00 CAD. Final compensation for this role will be based on the individual’s performance, geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses, and certifications.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Strong background of:

  • 3-5years of experience in Linux/Unix Administration in IaaS / PaaS / SaaS models
  • Deployment,maintenanceand support of enterprise applications into AWS including (but not limited to) Route53, ELB, VPC, EC2, S3, ECS, SQS
  • Good understanding of Terraform and similar ‘Infrastructure as Code’ technologies
  • Strong experience with SQL and NoSQL databases such MySQL, PostgreSQL, DB/2, DynamoDB
  • Experience with automation/configuration management using toolsets such as Chef,Puppetor equivalent
  • Experience of enterprise systems deployed as micro-services through code pipelinesutilizingcontainerization.
  • Working knowledge, understanding and ability to write scripts using languages including Bash,Pythonand an ability to understand Java,JavaScriptand PHP
