Job Brief
We are looking for a talented DevOps engineer who is passionate about development and understands the critical role of operations to the execution pipeline, to join the Digital team and implement new technologies, modern best practices, create innovative solutions, and operate a highly automated enterprise scale DevSecOps tool chain.
The ideal candidate will have a multi‑discipline background and a tinkering mentality with a proven ability to plan, build, and manage environments, script and deploy components to improve the tech stack, evaluate and integrate new technologies into various solutions to solve real world business problems, as well as researching opportunities to expand the application of these technologies.
The DevSecOps engineer must be able to collaborate with peers, apply problem‑solving skills, and efficiently execute software engineering tasks to contribute to the overall progress of the product.
You will work with onshore and offshore Development and Test teams to deliver scalable automation solutions (Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment) to enable rapid Cloud, Web, and Mobile Application development, testing, and deployment.
Responsibilities
- Provide leadership in a team environment to meet goals and deadlines.
- Be responsible for day‑to‑day management of infrastructure engineering and administer tools used in build, release, and production management with advanced skillset and experience with build automation tools as well as cloud‑based provisioning, monitoring, and troubleshooting.
- Establish and promote DevOps guidelines, best practices, and standards including branch‑based development and patch/merging oriented workflow.
- Participate in full lifecycle software development using Agile methodology (Scrum, XP, Hybrid, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Test‑Driven Development, etc) and demonstrate a track record in developing and shipping consumer‑facing experiences.
- Expertise in development paradigms such as Python, Bash, PowerShell, SQL and object‑oriented programming.
- Have familiarity with multiple tools but be highly opinionated on defining and simplifying the standard DevSecOps toolkit.
- Strong problem‑solving and analysis skills.
- Effective communication, able to clearly articulate ideas.
- Self‑starter attitude and ability to work independently without guidance.
- Quick learner, demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and scripting languages as necessary.
- Provide thought leadership in a fast‑growing team regarding all‑things scaling, availability, release automation, and monitoring.
- Travel expected approximately 25%.
Qualifications / High Score
- Six or more years of DevOps or SysAdmin role working with Agile software engineering teams developing server‑side components and services, low and high‑fidelity client‑side applications, and Web applications that leverage emergent technologies.
- Mastery with private and public clouds, especially AWS EBS, Terraform, OpenStack.
- Mastery with deploying and maintaining Apache, Tomcat, Nginx, SQL databases, monitoring systems.
- Mastery with configuration management and automation tools (Chef, Puppet, Jenkins, Ansible, Docker, Flosum, Copado, etc).
- Hands‑on knowledge of programming languages deployed in Linux and Windows environments (PHP, Perl, Bash, Python, Golang, C#, Java, C++, C, Node.js, etc).
- Hands‑on knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, MSSQL, MySQL, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc).
- Hands‑on knowledge of big data processing systems and infrastructure (Hadoop, Mesos, Spark, Scalding, Azkaban, Hive, etc).
- Hands‑on knowledge of APIs, microservices, service‑oriented architectures and deployment.
- Hands‑on knowledge of best practices.
