Job Title: Cloud Engineer
Job Summary: The Cloud Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining cloud infrastructure to ensure scalability, security, and high availability. This role involves deploying and managing applications in the cloud, automating infrastructure, and collaborating with development, security, and operations teams to optimize performance and cost efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and manage cloud-based infrastructure using platforms such as AWS, Microsoft Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Deploy and maintain cloud environments, ensuring high performance, security, and cost efficiency.
- Automate provisioning and configuration management using tools like Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Monitor and troubleshoot cloud systems to ensure reliability and availability.
- Implement cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and compliance controls.
- Support CI/CD pipelines and integrate with DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI).
- Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to optimize applications for the cloud.
- Manage containerized workloads using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS, AKS, or GKE).
- Maintain cloud cost reporting and optimization strategies.
- Document architectures, configurations, and processes for cloud operations.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or related field.
- 3+ years of experience in cloud engineering, system administration, or DevOps.
- Hands‑on experience with at least one major cloud platform (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Proficiency in infrastructure‑as‑code (IaC) tools: Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
- Strong knowledge of networking, security groups, load balancers, and VPCs in cloud environments.
- Experience with Linux/Unix systems administration.
- Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Knowledge of container orchestration (Kubernetes, ECS, AKS, or GKE).
- Understanding of monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, Grafana).
- Excellent problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
