Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field.
  • Professional experience with Kubernetes and container orchestration.
  • Experience in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Linux systems administration proficiency.
  • Command-line interface and shell scripting knowledge.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach.
  • German language skills at minimum C1 level and fluency in English.

I am hiring a DevOps Engineer on behalf of a leading logistics provider specializing in container transport across Europe's inland terminals. The company integrates rail, road, and waterway solutions to optimize supply chain efficiency. With a strong focus on innovation and sustainability, they offer a dynamic environment for tech professionals. As part of their DevOps team, you’ll contribute to modernizing infrastructure and supporting digital transformation in one of Europe's most vital intermodal logistics networks.

In this role you will be responsible for:
  • Building, operating, and enhancing a Kubernetes-based platform
  • Managing virtual machine infrastructure through configuration management tools like Puppet
  • Developing and maintaining robust monitoring solutions
  • Operating and evolving central systems supporting distributed applications (e.g., RabbitMQ, LDAP, Keycloak)
  • Applying Infrastructure as Code principles for consistent and scalable infrastructure deployment
  • Developing and supporting internal developer tools such as GitLab, SonarQube, and Nexus
  • Ensuring IT security standards including patch management, CNAPP solutions, and penetration testing
  • Providing support during deployments and participating in on‑call rotations
This role is hybrid in Baden-Württemberg or North Rhine Westphalia
Essential:
  • Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Professional experience working with:
    • Kubernetes and container orchestration
    • Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices
    • Linux systems administration
    • Command-line interfaces and shell scripting
  • Experience with programming and database management
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Scrum practices
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and a hands‑on approach ("You build it, you run it" mindset)
  • German language skills at minimum C1 level and fluency in English
