The City of Coquitlam is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Development Technologist 2 to join a team of committed professionals in the Development Services division. The successful incumbent will review and process engineering servicing and related legal and financial aspects of development and building permit applications to ensure compliance with municipal engineering standards. This position will work closely with developers, consultants and other City staff to process these applications and assist with other project tasks if and when required.
Our ideal candidate will possess at minimum a post-secondary diploma in Civil, Structural or Geological Engineering plus sound related experience (preferably in an municipal Planning environment) or an equivalent combination of training and experience. A valid BC Driver’s License is also required.
Certification or eligibility for certification as an Applied Science Technologist within the Province of British Columbia would be an asset. Experience with computer design software would also be beneficial to the role.
This CUPE position has an hourly rate range of $47.35 - $55.92 (2026 rates). The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
