Job description

HeadHunting Inc. is currently looking to fill various DSW Position in the Barrie, Oshawa, Markham area. This will be a team of Associates in the location, providing specialized services and individualized Direct Care Services to young Adults and youth with complex special needs, mental health and behavioural challenges including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)

MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS
  • Current Safe Management Training (Preferred)
  • Community college diploma or university degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum 2 years direct care work and experience with complex special needs clients with behavioural challenges
  • Current Vulnerable Sector Screening, completed within the last 6 months
  • Current Standard First Aid and CPR

    Additional Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting individuals with a developmental disability/dual diagnosis
  • Knowledge of the principles of applied behaviour analysis
  • Flexible availability both in advance and short notice
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Excellent communication and report writing skills
  • Willingness to travel
  • Conflict resolution and effective behavioural management skills
  • Attention to details

Responsibilities
  • Providing individualized and crisis care and supports to adults and youth
  • Implementing and assisting with client specific goals and behaviour programs using ABA principals
  • Daily documentation of client’s progress
  • Promoting and assisting clients’ inclusion in their community

Experience:
• Behavioural Support: 2 years (required)

Licence/Certification:
• 1st Aid/CPR (required)
• Vulnerable Sector Screening/Police Check (required within last 6 month)
• Diploma/Certificate in a relevant discipline (required)
• Annual Safe Management certificate (SMG) (required)
