Job summary

EnerStar Solutions seeks an Intermediate Accountant to support Senior Accountant and Finance team in Canada. This development role handles month-end closings, reconciliations, financial analysis, and budgeting support, aiming to deliver accurate reports for business decisions.

The successful candidate will show strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and willingness to grow toward CPA. Travel occasional, driver license required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Progress toward CPA designation or active enrollment in the CPA program.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel occasionally as required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with month end and year end accounting activities.
• Prepare and reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare recurring journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Assist with month end financial reporting packages.
• Track and maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
• Analyze financial transactions and identify opportunities for improved accuracy and efficiency.
• Support inventory reconciliations and cost tracking activities.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Support audits and provide documentation as required.
• Collaborate with operational departments to gather financial information and reporting data.
• Maintain documentation and internal controls to ensure compliance with accounting standards.
• Assist with accounting process improvements and automation initiatives.
• Provide support and guidance to Junior Accountants and Accounting Technicians when required.
• Stay current on accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
• Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.
