Position Overview

Reporting to the Manager, Development Accounting, this position is responsible for Development Accounting analysis, Construction / Development project cash flows / budgeting / re-forecasting and all job cost / procurement input, and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Yardi Business Unit Set-up for Development, CapEx and Tenant Construction projects
  • Input, update and track Development, Construction and Renovation budgets
  • Support the Development department in Pro‑Forma preparation, budgeting and reforecasting
  • Collaborate with the Development department in the preparation of monthly/quarterly variance reporting. Monitor and reconcile project variances (Budget, purchase orders, cost to date) to ensure financial reporting requirements are met
  • Development Cash‑flow update
  • Enter Accounting and Procurement Ledger Journal Entries
  • Calculate cost to complete and PUD/IPP value splits for IFRS valuation purposes
  • Monthly Bank reconciliations
  • Monthly HST filing
  • Prepare working paper files for submission to internal and external auditors
  • Other duties / projects as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to understand detailed financials and contractual information
  • Ability to identify deficiencies, errors and misrepresentations in financial reporting
  • Ability to apply logic and reasoning when analyzing development projects
  • College Diploma or Certificate in Finance or Accounting
  • Minimum 3 years of Development Accounting experience or equivalent
  • Experience with Residential
  • Proven verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven organizational and analytical skills
  • Experience using Yardi, Hubble, and Argus
  • Proficient in Word, Intermediate Excel and Outlook
