Porter Airlines is seeking a Developer, Digital to join an agile software team building Porter's React Native web and mobile apps across iOS, Android, and web. This role supports the full lifecycle, from implementation through deployment and reliability, reinforcing the Flying Refined brand.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, apply AI-assisted development practices, and contribute to secure, scalable solutions that deliver a seamless digital experience for Porter customers.

Qualificações

• 2+ years of experience developing web and/or mobile applications, ideally with React Native.
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end development practices.
• Experience integrating applications with RESTful APIs and secure back-end services.
• Understanding of OOP, design patterns, and modular architecture.
• Exposure to DevOps practices including Git, CI/CD pipelines, and automated builds.
• Experience implementing test automation for web and/or mobile applications.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted engineering tools and applying them responsibly.

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Development and Delivery, the Developer, Digital is part of an agile software engineering team responsible for building and maintaining Porter's React Native web and mobile applications. This role supports the full application lifecycle from technical implementation through deployment and ongoing reliability, helping deliver a seamless digital experience for Porter customers and reinforcing the Flying Refined brand. The Developer, Digital applies strong engineering fundamentals and AI-assisted development practices to build secure, scalable, and high-performing solutions across web, iOS, and Android from a shared React Native codebase, integrating with Porter's broader digital ecosystem.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Code, prepare, and maintain features across Porter's React Native web and mobile applications (iOS, Android, and web), using AI-assisted development tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude) to accelerate delivery while maintaining code quality
• Prepare clean, reliable, and well-documented code that integrates securely with internal and third-party systems, using AI to accelerate scaffolding and error-handling patterns
• Code testable implementations and unit tests to support software quality, using AI to prepare test cases, boilerplate, and edge-case coverage for engineer review
• Contribute to continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) pipelines and support high-quality releases across web and mobile
• Prepare and maintain automated tests, and participate in code reviews to support maintainability and performance, using AI to pre-review PRs and prepare reviewer-ready summaries
• Collaborate with UX designers, QA engineers, and back-end developers to deliver cohesive, end-to-end solutions across web and mobile surfaces
• Use AI to investigate application performance and analyze issues (Firebase, Datadog, Dynatrace), and prepare fixes for incident response or after-hours support when needed
• Participate in sprint planning, technical design discussions, and backlog refinement sessions, and use AI to accelerate ticket refinement and estimation preparation
• Identify improvements to code, processes, or tooling to enhance reliability, security, and developer efficiency, and prepare validated approaches for team documentation
• Investigate and research emerging AI-assisted development capabilities and prepare targeted prototypes that could benefit Porter's roadmap
• Actively participate in Porter's Safety Management System (SMS) by reporting hazards and incidents encountered in daily operations, and promoting a culture of safety

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience developing web and/or mobile applications, ideally with React Native
• Strong knowledge of modern JavaScript/TypeScript and front-end development practices
• Experience integrating applications with RESTful APIs and secure back-end services
• Understanding of software engineering principles such as OOP, design patterns, and modular architecture
• Exposure to DevOps practices including version control (Git), CI/CD pipelines, and automated builds
• Experience implementing test automation for web and/or mobile applications
• Awareness of secure coding practices and performance optimization techniques
• Working proficiency using AI-assisted engineering tools (GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude, or similar) as part of daily workflow to accelerate code generation, refactoring, testing, and debugging, while maintaining validation of AI-generated output
• Effective collaboration within cross-functional agile teams
• Strong problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with native mobile development (Swift, Kotlin) or modern web frameworks (Next.js, Remix) is an asset
• Experience working within a product operating model or supporting business stakeholders is an asset
• Aviation industry experience is an asset
