We're Looking For :

We are seeking a Detail Shop Manager with experience in managing an automotive detailing shop. You will lead our team responsible for delivering vehicle reconditioning services for commercial and dealer customers. You will be involved in daily operations of a (# of lanes) detail shop. In this role, you will have the opportunity to use your experience in leadership, automotive reconditioning, and operations. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years experience in a similar role.

You Will :

Be Responsible for the overall management of the Detail (Reconditioning) department, including planning and organizing department production in accordance with company procedures

Supervise and provide mentorship for Detailers, QCs, and office administrators; including allocation of assignments, inspection of work, and performance management; ensuring the department is properly staffed for volume

Ensure efficient and effective delivery of automotive reconditioning services to dealers & commercial customers, including monitoring and managing controllable expenses, ensuring department is operating efficiently and meeting financial targets including KPIs and profitability

Monitor 'first time right' quality assurance performance for detailers, providing coaching and training where needed to ensure a high standard of service delivery.

Ensure vehicles receive & are billed for services in accordance with corporate and customer SLAs

Ensure production information and reporting is accurately captured in company systems, including VTrace, AMS, and respond to portal or internal requests in a timely manner

Maintain positive business relationships with customers, which may include participating in negotiations regarding fees, costs, contracts, and service agreements, and promoting retail ready reconditioning services in collaboration with the General Manager & sales team.

Monitors and manages controllable expenses, ensuring department is operating efficiently and meeting financial targets including KPIs and profitability

Monitor, inspect, and enhance shop operations to ensure compliance with corporate and industry safety standards; ensuring that shop equipment has regular maintenance and repairs as required to remain in good working condition

Who You Will Work With :

Reporting to the Operations Manager (or General Manager), this role will collaborate with the VLC leadership, department representatives, and our shared services team on a daily basis.

Must Haves :
  • 3-5 years' experience detailing or in a production environment
  • 3-5 years' supervisory experience
  • Valid Driver's License
Nice to Haves :
  • Related post-secondary education or equivalent experience preferred
  • Previous experience leading production within a detail shop is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English / French) is an asset
  • Tech-savvy, familiarity with Google Suite is an asset
