Description & Requirements

who we are

lululemon is an innovative performance apparel company for yoga, running, training, and other athletic pursuits. Setting the bar in technical fabrics and functional design, we create transformational products and experiences that support people in moving, growing, connecting, and being well. We owe our success to our innovative product, emphasis on stores, commitment to our people, and the incredible connections we make in every community we're in. As a company, we focus on creating positive change to build a healthier, thriving future. In particular, that includes creating an equitable, inclusive and growth-focused environment for our people.

about the role

We’re looking for a designer to help redefine Small Accessories at lululemon.

This is a relatively open canvas. A chance to rethink the category, establish a new aesthetic and create small, beautifully considered objects that sit somewhere between fashion and sport.

We don’t work in leather. We’re interested in what comes next: technical materials, unexpected construction, intelligent function and minimal, detail-driven design.

what you’ll do

  • Design Small Accessories from first idea through to final product.
  • Create original concepts that give the category a clear and distinctive point of view.
  • Build strong visual research, mood boards and creative stories that lead to genuinely new product.
  • Explore the space between fashion, sport, movement and everyday life.
  • Obsess over proportion, material, construction, colour and small details.
  • Work closely with development, materials and manufacturing partners to turn ideas into beautifully resolved product.
  • Mentor and support other designers, sharing ideas and raising the creative bar across the team.

who you are

You’re highly creative with an exceptional eye.

You might come from fashion and be curious about athletic product, or from sport with a sophisticated understanding of fashion and culture. We’re particularly interested in designers who are excited by the space between the two.

Your work is clean, modern and considered. You research deeply, make unexpected connections and relish the challenge of creating something original rather than repeating what already exists.

You’re collaborative, generous and low ego. You want to make great work and help the people around you do the same.

qualifications

  • 5+ years designing accessories or closely related product.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating taste, originality and excellent visual thinking.
  • Excellent understanding of materials, construction, proportion and detail.
  • Strong sketching, CAD and Adobe Creative Suite skills.
  • Experience developing product with international manufacturing partners.
  • Curious about fashion, sport, culture, materials and how people live.

This is a chance to be creative at scale and set a genuinely new direction for the category.

must haves

  • Acknowledge the presence of choice in every moment and take personal responsibility for your life.
  • Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and continuously innovate to achieve great results.
  • Communicate with honesty and kindness and create the space for others to do the same.
  • Lead with courage, knowing the possibility of greatness is bigger than the fear of failure.
  • Foster connection by putting people first and building trusting relationships.
  • Integrate fun and joy as a way of being and working, aka doesn’t take yourself too seriously.

Immigration support is potentially available for this role.
