WHAT YOU DO AT AMD CHANGES EVERYTHING

At AMD, our mission is to build great products that accelerate next‑generation computing experiences—from AI and data centers, to PCs, gaming and embedded systems. Grounded in a culture of innovation and collaboration, we believe real progress comes from bold ideas, human ingenuity and a shared passion to create something extraordinary. When you join AMD, you’ll discover the real differentiator is our culture. We push the limits of innovation to solve the world’s most important challenges—striving for execution excellence, while being direct, humble, collaborative, and inclusive of diverse perspectives. Join us as we shape the future of AI and beyond.

Together, we advance your career.

THE ROLE:

AMD seeks a passionate, collaborative technical leader with strong verification expertise and the initiative to motivate and grow a verification team. You will manage and mentor the Silicon Engineering/Design Verification group responsible for all chiplet interconnect technologies at AMD, including UALink, UCIE, and industry‑leading internal proprietary technologies. You will innovate with internal teams and external partners to create the next generation of computing technologies, applying the right mix of UVM, Formal, Emulation, and related methodologies from concept through tapeout.

THE PERSON:

You have experience leading others in technical and/or managerial settings and a track record of elevating team capability through mentoring and training. You communicate exceptionally well—verbally and in writing—capable of summarizing complex issues for executives, diving deep with architects and engineers, and representing AMD to external partners. You collaborate effectively across geographies and disciplines, and you’re motivated by building high performance teams and delivering high quality silicon.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Team Leadership & Delivery
  • Lead a high‑performance engineering team.
  • Grow engineers through coaching, mentoring, and technical training.
  • Participate in architectural and microarchitectural discussions and signoff.
  • Define verification strategy for large and complex IPs and multi‑IP subsystems, spanning simulation, FPV (formal property verification), and emulation.
  • Plan projects. Make and meet schedule commitments.
  • Model best practices in verification through hands‑on technical contributions.
  • Collaborate with multifunctional leaders to drive AMD’s success.
  • When required, support PostSi teams on product performance, power, and functional debug and resolution.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

  • Must have managed a silicon verification team in the past.
  • Strong foundation in verification planning and execution across simulation, formal, and emulation; success driving testbench architecture and verification strategies.
  • Experience with complex, high‑speed IPs (e.g., UCIE, Ethernet, PCIe, or similar).
  • Proficiency in power‑focused simulation/analysis.
  • Ability to analyze systems and workloads to identify hazards such as performance bottlenecks and deadlocks; apply design of experiments and robust problem solving.
  • Proven experience managing/leading engineering teams, including distributed teams.
  • Strong mentoring/coaching skills.
  • Adept at cross‑functional collaboration with senior architects and stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and executive level summarization skills.
  • Self‑starter, self‑motivated, and comfortable balancing strategic leadership with hands‑on technical work.

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a closely related discipline.
