Job summary

Bradken, a global manufacturer of mining equipment, is seeking a Design Engineer to develop, improve and customize crawler systems for electric rope shovels and hydraulic excavators. The role involves hands-on mechanical design from concept through manufacture and field use, across product lines including Crawler Systems, Buckets and Ground Engaging Tools.

Qualifications

• Strong capability in 3D CAD, detailed drafting and engineering analysis.
• Experience in mechanical design, product design, reliability engineering or product development.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Create and update 3D models, detailed drawings and design documentation.
• Support reverse engineering, product improvements and new concept design.
• Complete analysis, simulation and technical checks to support safe, reliable product design.
• Work with Manufacturing and Supply Chain to ensure designs can be built, supplied and supported effectively.
• Support field evaluations and product reviews through site and manufacturing visits when required.
• Capture product data, specifications and design changes in Bradken’s Product Lifecycle Management system.
• Provide technical input to internal teams on product performance, design intent and manufacturability.
• Contribute to quality, safety and continuous improvement across engineering activities.
