Job summary

Sony Interactive Entertainment is seeking an experienced Design Director to join the Haven team in Montreal. You will translate the creative pillar into scalable, engaging game systems and lead a design team to AAA quality.

You will own the structural blueprint of the game, ensure alignment with narrative context, and mentor designers to execute the vision while collaborating with engineering, UI/UX, audio, and live operations. This role reports to the project’s Creative Director.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6+ years in game design, including at least one shipped AAA multiplayer title in a senior/lead/principal role.
• 2+ years of direct people management experience.
• Experience defining core loops early and preparing live-service systems.

Responsibilities

• Translate a creative vision into clear, playable pillars and meta-structures for the game.
• Lead and mentor a design team from junior to senior levels; conduct regular 1-on-1s.
• Collaborate across Engineering, UI/UX, Audio, and Live Ops to align design intent.
• Establish creative constraints and high quality standards; review design work for balance and vision.
