Job summary

Fraser Health Authority invites two consulting Dermatologists to join the existing dermatology group serving Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Mission. The role focuses on outpatient and private community services and includes inpatient consulting at community hospitals.

The dermatologist will pursue a Clinical Faculty appointment with the University of British Columbia and provide supervision, mentorship and teaching to medical trainees.

Qualifications

• Full FRCPC certification is required.
• Eligible for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia.
• Possibility to obtain Clinical Faculty appointment with UBC and provide supervision/teaching to medical trainees.

Responsibilities

• Provide mainly outpatient and private community dermatology services.
• Deliver consulting services to inpatients at community hospitals.
• Obtain Clinical Faculty appointment with UBC and supervise/teach medical trainees.

Role and Facility Information

Fraser Health Authority is seeking 2 consulting Dermatologists to add to the current Dermatology group of 2 Dermatologists to provide service to the communities of Abbotsford, Chilliwack and Mission.

The Dermatologist would be providing mostly outpatient and private community services and would also be expected to provide consulting services to in patients at the community hospitals. The Dermatologist would also be expected to obtain Clinical Faculty appointment with University of British Columbia and provide supervision, mentorship and teaching to Medical Trainees.

Facilities

• Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre - Abbotsford Regional Hospital and Cancer Centre is a 280 bed, University of British Columbia affiliated hospital offering medical, surgical, obstetrics, inpatient pediatrics, renal, cardiology, tertiary palliative care, helipad, as well as 24/7 emergency services with nearly 80,000 visits annually. The hospital recently underwent a renovation and redesign of its Emergency Department that now includes a dedicated area for mental health and substance use care, a new nursing substation, and a relocated ambulance bay, among other features, to help improve patient flow and experience.
• Chilliwack General Hospital - Chilliwack General Hospital is a 169 bed, University of BC affiliated community hospital offering medical, surgical, obstetrics, psychiatry, and a regional eye centre, as well as 24/7 emergency services with nearly 62,000 visits annually.
• Mission Memorial Hospital - Mission Memorial Hospital is a 50 bed community hospital providing acute and ambulatory care as well as 24/7 emergency services with over 21,000 visits annually.
