We are seeking a Derivatives Lawyer to join our expanding bench of legal professionals supporting top-tier clients in the financial services sector. This role is ideal for a motivated lawyer with experience advising on derivatives trading and capital markets transactions and a strong understanding of Canadian securities and derivatives regulation.

Responsibilities
  • Draft negotiate and advise a variety of derivatives and trading agreements.
  • Provide legal advice on regulatory compliance and transactional issues affecting derivatives and financial markets activities.
  • Support clients in understanding and managing legal and regulatory risks across trading and investment operations.
  • Monitor regulatory developments and assess their impact on business practices and documentation.
Qualifications
  • 8 years of experience in derivatives trading or capital markets law ideally from a major law firm financial institution and / or in-house legal team.
  • Deep familiarity with Canadian derivatives regulation and related securities law frameworks.
  • Actively licensed and in good standing as a lawyer in a Canadian province.
