Glen Stor Dun Lodge is a 132-bed non‑profit long‑term care home located in Cornwall, Ontario, dedicated to providing exceptional care and community outreach services. With a mission to provide compassionate and high‑quality care, the Lodge is a vibrant home for older adults while extending outreach services to the broader community.

Our state‑of‑the‑art, four‑story home is designed to promote comfort and inclusivity. The Lodge also offers a Special Care Unit for 44 residents, complete with a dedicated garden intended to engage residents in therapeutic gardening activities. Outdoor spaces like the verandah and gazebo are favourites for residents and their families, particularly during summer.

Position Overview:

Reporting to the Administrator of Glen Stor Dun Lodge, the Deputy Administrator is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the effective and efficient operations to provide compassionate, resident‑centered care. This position requires a hands‑on, proactive leader committed to fostering a culture of excellence, compassion, and continuous improvement for the residents, families, and staff. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a balance of operational expertise and emotional intelligence, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational values.

Qualifications:
  • A post‑secondary degree or diploma in healthcare, business administration, or a related field.
  • 3–5 years of progressive leadership experience in a long‑term care or similar healthcare setting.
  • Completion of a long‑term care administration/management program (100+ hours of instruction) within 12 months of hire, if not already completed.
  • Strong knowledge of regulatory standards, including MOHLTC Acts and accreditation processes.
  • Proven ability to lead in a unionized environment, employing effective conflict resolution and team‑building strategies.
  • Proficiency in continuous quality improvement principles and risk management frameworks.
  • Advanced communication skills, both oral and written, with bilingualism in English and [other language, e.g., French] considered an asset.
  • Demonstrated competency in problem‑solving, decision‑making, and fostering a culture of inclusion and accountability.
  • Familiarity with Lean principles and innovative care delivery models, such as the Butterfly model, is an asset.
