Job summary

Maxima in Toronto is seeking a Deployment Engineer to join our team. You will work beside Account Executives through complex deals, run proofs of concept, and build integrations and custom modules to launch customer solutions.

You will tune prompts and models for each client, troubleshoot production issues, and collaborate with product and engineering to deliver on customer needs. This role is office-based in downtown Toronto, four to five days a week.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in forward deployed engineering, sales engineering, implementation engineering, or solutions engineering
• Bachelor's degree in any engineering discipline; computer science preferred but not required
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and comfort working directly with customers
• Proficiency in languages such as Go, TypeScript, or Python
• Experience working with Account Executives on technical sales processes for enterprise customers
• Proactive, highly motivated, and able to handle the intensity and pace of a startup

Responsibilities

• Run technical proof-of-concept processes and present tailored demos based on customer and business needs
• Lead technical discovery calls and write the implementation scoping document for each customer that launches with Maxima
• Tune prompts and models to get the right AI performance for each client
• Build integrations to transaction systems such as revenue, billing, and accounts payable, and the custom modules customers need to go live
• Partner with product and engineering to deliver on customer requests and advocate for customer needs
• Troubleshoot, debug, fix, and upgrade software for reliable performance in production, and support deployed solutions over time

About Maxima

Nobody went into accounting to spend the first week of every month matching transactions by hand. Maxima was built so they don't have to. Our agents do the accounting work itself: journal entries, transaction matching, reconciliations, and flux analysis, in real time and to SOX standards. Accountants review and approve. The role

As a Deployment Engineer, you get customers live. You will sit alongside Account Executives through complex deal cycles, run technical proofs of concept, and then build what each customer needs to launch: integrations to their transaction systems, custom modules, and prompt and model tuning so the AI performs the way their accounting requires. When something breaks in production, you are the one who fixes it.

This is engineering with a customer in the room. Communication matters as much as code.

What we're looking for

Where and how you'll work

This role is based in our downtown Toronto office, near Union Station. We value in-person collaboration and are in office four to five days a week for our on-site roles.
