Job summary

A Canadian university is seeking a full-time tenure-track faculty member in Sports Studies, starting July 1, 2026. Department of Sports Studies – Tenure-Stream Appointment – Sport, Health, and Well‑Being

Bishop’s University invites applications for a full‑time tenure‑track faculty position in Sports Studies, beginning July 1 2026. The successful candidate must possess a PhD at the time of appointment and have or be developing an active research program related to health and well‑being in or through sport, broadly defined, such as:

  • Safe Sport and athlete protection (e.g., maltreatment prevention and safeguarding frameworks)
  • Mental health, psychosocial well‑being, and care in sport
  • Sport as a context for individual, community, or population health
  • Related areas aligned with health and well‑being in or through sport

The candidate should demonstrate a strong commitment to teaching excellence and the potential to contribute to program development. The successful candidate will be able to teach courses in areas such as Safe Sport; athlete welfare, protection, and human rights in sport; mental health and psychosocial well‑being in sport; and/or other courses aligned with the candidate’s expertise and the evolving needs of the program.
