Job description

Our client, a very busy oral surgeon, is seeking a part-time Certified Dental Assistant and possibly DA II.

POSITION/JOB REQUIREMENTS
  • Level II Dental Assistant
  • MUST be Harp certified
  • Prefer 2 years of experience
LOCATION

Yonge & Eglinton

HOURS
  • Part-time 2 days possible 3rd day
  • Mon & Weds 8:30-4/5
  • Possible Tues or Thurs 8:30-4/5
COMPENSATION

$25-$30+

SOFTWARE USED
  • Tracker (can be trained)
  • Must have good computer skills – need to put notes in the computer, paperless office
JOB OVERVIEW
  • Assisting dentist with oral surgery, dental implants, wisdom teeth removal, and removal of damaged teeth
  • Preparing patients, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments, setting up instrument trays and preparing materials
  • Taking x-rays of patients' teeth and exposing dental diagnostic x-rays
  • Keeping patients' mouths clear and dry during procedures using suction and swabs
  • Questioning patients about their medical history and recording the information for the dentist's reference
  • Advising patients on dental care, oral hygiene and plaque control programs
  • Making patients of all ages feel comfortable before, during and after dental treatment
