Overview

The Demi Chef is responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes within their assigned section. Working closely with the Chef de Partie and other kitchen staff, the Demi Chef ensures smooth kitchen operations, consistency in food quality, and adherence to hygiene and safety standards.

How your day looks like?
  • Prepare and cook food items in accordance with hotel recipes and presentation standards.
  • Support the Chef de Partie in the day-to-day kitchen operations for the assigned section.
  • Ensure mise-en-place is completed and stations are ready for service.
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and organization in the kitchen.
  • Ensure food is stored, prepared, and served in compliance with HACCP and food safety guidelines.
  • Assist in receiving and storing kitchen supplies and ingredients.
  • Monitor food quality and report any discrepancies or issues to the Chef de Partie or Sous Chef.
  • Contribute to menu development and suggest ideas for new dishes or improvements.
  • Train and mentor Commis Chefs and kitchen trainees.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen sections to ensure seamless service during peak periods.
