Overview
Position describes duties of operating and delivering items, providing customer service, and supporting logistics activities. The description includes required licenses, weight handling, experience preference, and work conditions.
Responsibilities
- Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
- Provide professionalism in customer service
- Accept payment or invoices for items delivered
- Receive and relay information to central dispatch
- Assemble, install and set-up merchandise / products
- Keep a record of items received and delivered
- Prepare, package and restock goods
- Load and unload goods
- Sort packages for delivery
- Use maps and other trip planning aids
- Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems
- Pay and receive payments for goods
- Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Qualifications and Requirements
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
- Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Class 5 / 5F / G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles)
- Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
- Experience: Experience is an asset
- Personal suitability: Organized; Punctual
