Overview

Position describes duties of operating and delivering items, providing customer service, and supporting logistics activities. The description includes required licenses, weight handling, experience preference, and work conditions.

Responsibilities
  • Operate and drive automobiles, vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver various items and products
  • Provide professionalism in customer service
  • Accept payment or invoices for items delivered
  • Receive and relay information to central dispatch
  • Assemble, install and set-up merchandise / products
  • Keep a record of items received and delivered
  • Prepare, package and restock goods
  • Load and unload goods
  • Sort packages for delivery
  • Use maps and other trip planning aids
  • Record trip information such as vehicle mileage, fuel costs and any problems
  • Pay and receive payments for goods
  • Perform pre-trip, en route and post-trip inspection and oversee all aspects of vehicle
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses: Class 5 / 5F / G Licence (cars, small trucks and other 2-axle vehicles)
  • Weight handling: Up to 45 kg (100 lbs)
  • Experience: Experience is an asset
  • Personal suitability: Organized; Punctual
