Job summary

Sobeys in British Columbia seeks a customer-focused associate for our deli department. You will prepare, slice, and merchandise deli items, while delivering friendly, knowledgeable service to shoppers and offering meal ideas.

Applicants should be comfortable with a fast-paced environment and be able to work days, evenings, and weekends. A passion for food and good standards in safety and sanitation are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in the Deli Department is an asset.
• Retail experience is an asset.
• Must be able to work days, evenings and weekends.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, slice, package, and merchandise deli products according to company standards and customer requests.
• Deliver exceptional customer service by engaging with shoppers and suggesting meal ideas.
• Ensure all food safety, sanitation, and health standards are maintained at all times.
• Rotate stock, manage product displays, and maintain freshness and quality of all deli offerings.
• Support inventory management, including receiving, storing, and labeling products accurately.
