Position Summary:

South Country Co-op is seeking a friendly and customer-focused Deli Clerk to join our team at the Taber Food Store in Taber, AB. If you’re passionate about providing exceptional customer experiences, we’d love to hear from you!

Reporting to the Deli Manager, this position is responsible for preparing a variety of deli foods: including meats, salads, pizzas, and sandwiches—while delivering an exceptional customer service experience. The Deli Clerk also contributes to maintaining product freshness, proper merchandising, and ensuring cleanliness and food safety in the department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide outstanding service to customers in a prompt and friendly manner
  • Prepare deli items such as salads, sandwiches, pizzas, and specialty meats
  • Stock, rotate, and merchandise deli products to ensure quality and freshness
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness, sanitation, and food safety
  • Operate deli tools and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Assist with product ordering and inventory control
  • Follow proper handling, preparation, and storage protocols
  • Work collaboratively as part of a diverse and multi-generational team
  • Deliver excellent customer service by assisting customers, promoting merchandise, and ensure customer needs, preferences, and expectations are met
  • Educate customers on the benefits of membership in South Country Co-op
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:

Work Schedule:

This position requires full availability, including days, evenings, and weekends.
