METRO is seeking applicants for a permanent part-time Deli and Hot Food position in Ontario. The role involves serving customers, showcasing a wide range of meat, cheese and ready meals, and thriving in a fast-paced environment.

Unionized, with starting pay at 17.60 CAD per hour, higher wages may be offered based on knowledge, skills, education and prior experience. Ideal candidates enjoy helping customers and can work flexible shifts, including nights and weekends, to meet Metro's business

Qualifications

• Deli product knowledge and merchandising experience considered an asset.
• Strong Communication Skills.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Able to stand for prolonged periods.
• Must be available to work flexible shifts which may include nights and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Assist customers in the Deli and Hot Food Department and help with product knowledge and display.
• Support daily department operations and merchandising.
• Provide friendly customer service and help meet store targets.

Job description

This position is part of a unionized bargaining unit.The hourly wage for this position is starting at 17.60 which is established in accordance with the collective agreement. Depending on a candidate's relevant knowledge, skills, education and prior experience, a higher hourly wage may be offered. Any hourly wage offered for this role, whether it is the starting wage or higher, will be within the wage scale established for this position in accordance with the collective agreement.
