Job summary

A global energy job board is seeking a Test Equipment Engineer for a 12-month contract or permanent position in Southwestern Ontario, Canada. You will design and develop test equipment for electronics in the Defence sector, requiring experience with TestStand or LabView. The ideal candidate should have strong skills in electronics design and trouble-shooting. This position is full-time onsite with compressed hours available.

Qualifications

• Minimum SC clearance required.
• Experience with TestStand or LabView and Test Equipment design essential.

Responsibilities

• Design functional test equipment for circuit cards and systems.
• Ensure overall quality of the test equipment.
• Provide leadership and guidance for junior engineers.
• Document design specifications and implementation details.
• Participate in design reviews.
• Maintain design standards and methodologies.
• Realise complex system requirements for reliable test solutions.
• Support manufacturing queries and resolve technical issues.
• Manage obsolescence throughout the test hardware lifecycle.
• Accountable for engineering specific risks and opportunities.

Skills

Test Equipment Design experience for electronics

Knowledge of analogue and digital electronic circuit design

Ability to write comprehensive technical design documentation

Proven experience in the management of designs in production

Excellent hardware troubleshooting skills

Able to support/debug system integration

Use of Mentor Graphics schematic entry and PCB layout tools

Understanding of common test architectures PXI/LXI

Knowledge of NI LabView, NI CVI, NI TestStand or C#

Experience with mixed signal circuits, high speed network, RF, power supply
