Job summary

Fortinos Supermarket Ltd in Hamilton is seeking an experienced Cake Decorator to join our bakery team. You will prepare, decorate and display cake and pastry products, while delivering friendly, attentive service to customers.

This unionized, fast-paced environment requires overnight availability, strong organization and good communication. Previous leadership experience is a plus, and a Food Handlers certificate is beneficial. The role offers competitive hourly wages within the posted range.

• Previous leadership experience would be beneficial.
• Excellent organization, planning and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, decorate and display cake and pastry products according to recipe cards and production lists.
• Serve customers in an efficient and friendly manner.
• Box, price and fill product in the cake counter, sales floor and coolers ensuring proper rotation and quality.
• Assist and support the department manager with the day to day operations of the department by placing orders for product and supplies, receiving, taking orders, training and supervising part time employees.
• Ensure that the safety and sanitation of the department meet Company and legislative policies and standards.
• Follow production planners ensuring to record all waste and scan outs according to Company procedures.
• Perform other duties, as assigned.

Whether we are planning a birthday party, celebrating an achievement, planning family dinner or just have an appetite for something from the bakery we will find a Decorator to provide a memorable experience and personal touch to our in-store shopping experience. As Decorators, we directly serve customers like ourselves by taking orders and accurately labeling products. We provide friendly service by answering customer questions and sharing our knowledge and experience. We want to show you how it is done and have you help us improve and build an even better in-store experience. We'd love to hear from you.

What You’ll Do
