A leading consulting firm is seeking a Decommissioning Project Manager in Canada. The role involves overseeing medium to high-risk construction projects, ensuring safety and adherence to budgets. Candidates should have at least 9 years of project management experience, a background in infrastructure projects, and excellent communication skills. This position offers the opportunity to lead significant projects in a dynamic environment.
MatchBox Consulting Group is on the hunt for a DecommissioningProject Manager. This candidate will lead medium- to high-risk, complex infrastructure or construction projects. The role oversees cross-functional teams and ensures delivery is safe, on schedule, within budget, and aligned with organizational requirements.
Duration : 1 year
Deliver infrastructure and construction projects up to ~$50M in capital cost.
Lead full project lifecycle : scoping, planning, scheduling, execution, monitoring, and reporting.
Develop project plans, schedules, risk registers, communications plans, and status reports.
Manage activities such as engineering, QA, stakeholder engagement, Indigenous relations, permitting, procurement, field operations, and safety.
Maintain strong communication with internal stakeholders, contractors, and field teams.
Track project benefits, risks, budget, resources, and documentation.
Support future transmission maintenance and inspection programs, including work package development, contractor oversight, PR creation, safety calls, and invoice review.
Minimum 9 years of project management experience (or equivalent).
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Economics, or related field (Engineering an asset).
Experience managing infrastructure or utility projects (minimum 5 years).
Strong understanding of transmission systems, asset lifecycles, and safety standards.
Advanced proficiency in MS Office and project management software.
Excellent communication, presentation, analytical, and stakeholder-management skills.
PMP designation preferred.
