Simcoe County District School Board is seeking a qualified Designated Early Childhood Educator to partner with the Kindergarten Teacher for a full‑day early learning program. The role includes collaborating on program design and creating environments that foster children’s cognitive, physical, social, and emotional development.

Qualifications and Skills Required
  • Two‑year community college Early Childhood Education Diploma.
  • Proof of current membership with the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE).
  • Minimum of six months recent experience in an early learning centre or day care.
  • Knowledge of the Ministry of Education full‑day kindergarten program.
  • Ability to communicate sensitively and courteously with children, parents, staff, and the general public.
  • Strong ability to follow directions, policies and procedures promptly.
  • Commitment to confidentiality.
  • Ability to handle difficult situations and act appropriately in stressful or emergency scenarios per policies and procedures.
  • Experience planning and implementing age‑appropriate programs.
  • Basic computer skills, strong organization and time‑management, meeting deadlines.
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification is an asset.
