Overview

PwC Deals Strategy – Value Creation Practice focuses on helping clients determine the right strategic priorities to grow profitably and maximize shareholder value, with support and practical solutions during mergers and acquisitions (M&A) processes. Your expertise will include engagements in Growth Strategy, M&A Strategy, Market Entry, Commercial Due Diligence, Operational Improvement, and Business Model Redefinition, and more.

Responsibilities
  • Strategic Analysis and Problem Solving: Conduct comprehensive industry and market analyses to inform strategic recommendations; analyze data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities; develop actionable strategies and present findings to clients, connecting dots across workstreams, projects, and programs.
  • Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Lead client interactions to understand strategic goals and challenges; build and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships; act as a trusted advisor to senior client executives with strong communication (written, verbal).
  • Project Leadership and Delivery: Oversee multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring delivery on time, within scope, and within budget; develop project plans and manage resources; ensure high-quality deliverables that meet client expectations and industry standards.
  • Team Management and Development: Manage, mentor, and develop a team of associates; foster a collaborative, high-performance culture; provide regular feedback, conduct performance evaluations, and identify professional development opportunities; encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.
  • Business Development & Thought Leadership: Contribute to growth by identifying new business opportunities; support partners in client account management and proposal development; stay abreast of industry trends and share insights with internal teams and clients.
Experiences and Skills
  • Experience with organic and external growth strategy, deal strategy (M&A), and/or strategic transformation programs.
  • Experience collaborating with clients to understand strategic goals and objectives.
  • Preferred experience across sectors: Retail & Consumer Goods, Financial Services, Industrials, Telecommunications, and/or Technology.
  • Advisory experience from a management consultancy or as a senior internal consultant is an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in providing advice and insights to support deal or non-deal decision-making processes.
  • Demonstrated expertise in managing and developing teams, clients, and supporting leaders; proven experience in business development and client relationship management.
  • Willing to travel occasionally within Canada, with potential to travel outside of Canada depending on client requirements.
