Job Summary

At PwC our people in deals focus on providing strategic advice and support to clients in areas such as mergers and acquisitions, divestitures and restructuring. They help clients navigate complex transactions and maximise value in their business deals.

In deal recovery management at PwC you will focus on helping clients navigate financial distress and recover from challenging business situations. You will be responsible for providing strategic advice and solutions to optimise recovery outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Participating in business development activities to expand business relationships and develop proposals or qualification documents to support sourcing of new mandates.
  • Helping develop and implement turnaround plans or realization plans with the goal of maximizing recoveries to stakeholders.
  • Conducting financial analysis, including developing forecasts, detailed models and sensitivity analysis.
  • Applying business acumen to develop or assess business plans to support turnaround plans.
  • Supporting project teams in integrating tax, regulatory and other legal considerations into turnaround or realization plans.
  • Supporting the execution of distressed M&A or refinancing activities.
  • Assisting in the preparation of high‑quality presentations and reports for key stakeholders.
  • Supporting the project team as it runs in‑court and out‑of‑court restructuring or realization processes.
  • Developing technical skills by enrolling in CAIRP courses to obtain a CIRP designation and, eventually, a license to act as a Licensed Insolvency Trustee.
Experiences and Skills You’ll Use to Solve
  • Professional accounting designation or equivalent, or post‑graduate designation demonstrating financial or business expertise.
  • Relevant experience in a professional services or business advisory environment.
  • Specific financial restructuring, operating restructuring or insolvency experience, including experience as a member of a project team advising debtors and creditors under the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Act and the Companies Creditors Arrangement Act.
  • Strong technical skills to evaluate financial results and detailed financial/cash‑flow forecasts.
  • Ability to build detailed financial or cash‑flow models in Excel.
  • Solid analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills; experience writing court reports or developing PowerPoint reports.
  • Project‑management skills and the ability to lead high‑performing project teams.
  • Solid client‑relationship development abilities.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 20% of the time within Canada and internationally.

Salary & Compensation
  • For this position the salary range is $58,400 – $97,500, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual bonus. Actual compensation within the range will depend on your skills, experience, qualifications and geographic location.
  • Salary ranges are reflected for our British Columbia region. We recruit (and may hire) in other regions, so the range may differ depending on the work location. PwC is committed to competitive compensation and sharing salary ranges in accordance with applicable pay‑transparency legislation.
