Job summary

Sensity Kingston, Ontario, Canada is seeking a Full-Time Intervenor to support people who are deafblind. The Intervenor helps with communication and daily living to promote independence, learning, and personal growth.

The role includes working in home and community settings with a training program provided. Shifts include days, afternoons, evenings, overnights and weekends on a rotational schedule. Salary starts at $24.31/hour with a benefits package.

Qualifications

• Completion of a college diploma or certificate in the Intervenor for Deafblind Persons program, or related human services field.
• Experience supporting persons with developmental disabilities and challenging behaviours.
• Experience supporting persons with mental health conditions.
• Communication in American Sign Language (ASL) or Signed Exact English (SEE).

Responsibilities

• Support the individual in home and community settings.
• Relay information using appropriate communication techniques.
• Assist with daily living activities and personal care as needed.
• Support goal development and program planning.
• Ensure documentation and records are complete.
