Qualifications

• Master’s degree with three years of relevant work experience required ideally in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or other relevant scientific degree.
• Ability to apply advanced statistical and mathematical methods to address complex research questions, with a strong foundation in independent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Strong credentials and experience in working with both structured and unstructured data, along with data visualization skills, are required.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R is required, with project experience in either language.
• Familiarity with generative AI concepts (e.g., embeddings, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt design, tool calling, structured generation, and context management) and ability and interest in staying current with new and emerging developments.
• Practical experience designing, prototyping, or deploying AI agents, agentic workflows, or other generative AI powered solutions.
• Familiarity with online/cloud computing and storage platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS) is preferred, along with experience working within an HPC environment.
• Experience working within a Linux environment is a plus, as well as experience with Docker and front-end development using a JavaScript framework (e.g., Vue.js, Angular).
• Eagerness and ability to quickly learn new skills, analytical methodologies, and technologies to effectively support and contribute to project teams.
• Demonstrated experience working on project teams and collaborating with others.
• Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project teams to address data science and computing challenges.
• Identify opportunities for leveraging cutting-edge technology to enhance service offerings.
• Act as a resource and participate in client engagements and research as part of the project team.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of computing tools, provide technical training and help grow the in-house knowledge base of the data science landscape.
• Act as a generalist in data science projects, influencing the choice of technology and methodology.
• Réaliser des analyses statistiques et mathématiques avancées pour répondre à des questions de recherche complexes et en tirer des renseignements exploitables qui appuient la prise de décision de la clientèle.
• Développer des systèmes de production de bout en bout en ingénierie des données et en apprentissage automatique pour des projets de science des données full stack.
• Utiliser le traitement automatique du langage naturel et l’IA générative pour travailler avec des données non structurées (dossiers médicaux électroniques, médias sociaux et autres).
• Optimiser les procédures de gestion et d’accès aux grandes bases de données (p. ex. réclamations d’assurance, dossiers médicaux électroniques, opérations financières).
• Créer des portails analytiques interactifs et des visualisations de données (p. ex. avec R/R-Shiny, Python/Flask, D3).
• Tirer parti des environnements de grille et d’informatique en nuage, et développer des progiciels en R, en Python et dans d’autres langages orientés objet.
• Établir des procédures optimisées pour les tâches répétitives ou exigeantes en calcul.
