Job description

Position Purpose:

• The Data Protection Specialist maintains a safe and secure tooling environment for engineers by enforcing security policies and procedures.
• This position will be responsible for investigating & identifying improper security practices and collaborating with teams to clean up sensitive security data across Client's engineering tools.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Drive data protection cleanup initiatives and socially promote these programs as part of the overall engineering business culture.
• Proactively collaborate with engineering teams related to data protection & cleanup activities.
• Conduct risk analysis and security assessments within our engineering tools to identify and evaluate risk to the client, when prioritizing cleanup timelines.
• Create clear project Scope statements, and build supporting plans which effectively factor in resource availability, task durations, and related dependencies.
• Check progress regularly against the plan and adjust to optimize execution. Recommend alternative opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness.
• Document progress against the project plan throughout the project.
• Present status updates to the team and immediate manager. Status reports are expected to be concise summaries, tailored to the audience.
• Adept at using Jira & Confluence for project management, including backlog grooming, task scheduling, and dependency tracking.

Must Haves:

• Adept at using Jira & Confluence for project management, including backlog grooming, task scheduling, and dependency tracking.
• Intermediate to advanced communication and facilitation skills.
• Knowledge of security secrets (API Keys/token, SSH Keys/tokens, OAuth Tokens, PGP/PKC Private Keys, etc.)

Preferred Requirements:

• Preferred Education: Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree.
• Preferred Work Experience: 5+ years’ experience in large enterprises leading projects.
• Key Skills and Competencies: Intermediate to advanced communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to assess and prioritize security risks.
• Ability to effectively and efficiently work with team members across business units.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality in all areas of the business, both personal and professional.
