Job description
About Pantheon

Pantheon WebOps Platform powers the open web, running more than 300,000 sites in the cloud for customers including Google, Princeton, Salesloft and Doctors Without Borders. Every day, thousands of developers and marketers create, iterate, and scale WordPress and Drupal sites to reach billions of people globally. Pantheon’s multitenant, container-based platform enables organizations to manage all of their websites from a single dashboard. Organizations including Clorox and the United Nations drive results through accelerated development and real-time publishing using Pantheon’s collaborative workflows.

The Role

The Data Platform team powers Pantheon's data infrastructure and delivers analytics across the company. We're hiring an Engineering Manager to lead the team and define what a mature data organization looks like at Pantheon. You'll partner directly with the VP of Engineering.

What you Need to Succeed
  • Lead and develop a team of 5+ engineers (software and analytics) through 1:1s, performance reviews, and career growth planning.
  • Own the technical strategy and operations of Pantheon's complete data platform.
  • Architect scalable, reliable data systems while maintaining SLOs for business-critical pipelines.
  • Partner with Product, Sales Ops, Finance, and Executive leadership to deliver high-impact data solutions.
  • Establish sustainable processes that balance strategic platform work with business support needs.
  • Drive self‑service tooling and a data‑driven culture across Pantheon's teams.
  • Stay up‑to‑date with industry trends and technologies in data engineering, analytics, and modern data platforms.
  • Continuously improve our standard of engineering excellence by implementing best practices for data architecture, testing, pipeline reliability, and documentation.
What you Bring to the Table
  • 8+ years in data engineering or data platform roles, with experience developing senior/staff‑level engineers.
  • You have deep experience with cloud infrastructure, distributed systems, and driving efficiency improvements.
  • You know how to say no without burning bridges.
  • You think strategically about team design and how to staff versus enable skillsets across the data organization.
  • You would rather build self‑service than field the same request twice.
  • You are a clear communicator, able to translate complex data concepts for executive audiences and advocate effectively for your team.
  • You have experience with modern data stacks (Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Looker, or similar).
What We Offer

We have all the usual perks and benefits but what we can really offer you is a fantastic work environment powered by an amazing team.

  • Industry competitive compensation and equity plan.
  • Paid Time Off (PTO), Paid Sick Leave (PSL) and 11 Paid Company Holidays.
  • Full medical coverage (Extended health care, dental, vision).
  • Top‑of‑line equipment.
  • In‑office workspace (Vancouver, BC Canada).
  • Monthly allowance for wellness, reading and access to LinkedIn Learning for continued development.
  • Events and activities both team‑based and company wide that inspire, educate and cultivate.
