Job summary

CI Investments Inc. is looking for a Data Operations Specialist to join their Enterprise Data team within the Wealth Technology Group. Your main duty will be ensuring the delivery of accurate and high-quality data services that fuel data-driven strategies across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, a post-secondary degree in a quantitative discipline, and over 2 years of experience in data operations. Overview

Data Operations Specialist – Enterprise Data team, Wealth Technology Group, CI Wealth. Responsible for ensuring delivery of accurate, timely, and high‑quality data services that enable data‑driven strategies across the organization.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with analytics, engineering, and project teams to streamline data pipelines and support reporting and business intelligence needs.
  • Support and troubleshoot data acquisition, validation, integration, and enrichment processes to maintain data readiness, accuracy, and reliability.
  • Take ownership of CI/CD pipelines and act as gatekeeper for scheduled and ad‑hoc releases.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain data governance policies to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards.
  • Implement automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual errors.
  • Conduct regular audits and quality checks to ensure data integrity throughout its lifecycle.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and stakeholders to ensure service quality and data compliance.
  • Provide rotational after‑hour support as required.
  • Ensure work model compliance: onsite in‑office four days per week to support collaboration and business needs.
Qualifications
  • 2+ years of professional experience in data operations focused on data process support, data quality, and governance.
  • Post‑secondary degree in a quantitative discipline.
  • Comprehensive understanding of data pipeline architecture, modern data stack, and cloud‑based platforms, including AWS, Snowflake, and related solutions.
  • Working knowledge of data operations frameworks and models.
  • Experience maintaining and troubleshooting CI/CD and data pipelines.
  • Experience developing and maintaining data quality and validation processes.
  • Strong knowledge of observability and data lineage implementation for pipeline transparency and monitoring.
  • Proficiency with workflow orchestration tools (CRON, Apache Airflow, AWS Step Functions); CI/CD tools (Bitbucket, Git, Jenkins, CloudFormation, Terraform, Flyway); data governance tools (Collibra, Atlan, Alation); database systems (Snowflake, PostgreSQL, Sybase, MySQL); data extraction (SQL, Python, API invocation, CDC); data storage (SFTP, AWS S3); and ETL/ELT frameworks (Snowpipe, PySpark, AWS Glue, EMR, AWS Lambda, SCD).
  • Strong analytical mindset and sophisticated written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in the Financial Services Industry is an asset.
  • Ability to work within an organization that emphasizes continuous improvement.
Compensation & Benefits
  • Base salary range: $69,500 – $119,500 (actual salary depends on experience, skills, education, budget, and geographic location).
  • Eligible for participation in a bonus program.
