University of Alberta Library (UAL) is seeking to hire a Data Management Planning (DMP) Specialist to support the ongoing development and delivery of DMP resources provided through the Digital Research Alliance of Canada. The Alliance provides national-level RDM support alongside advanced research computing (ARC), research software (RS), and cybersecurity (CS). The Alliance RDM team, situated in the Operations and Security Department, collaborates and partners with stakeholders from across the Canadian research ecosystem to develop and coordinate expertise, platforms, services, technology, and training in support of RDM, including DMP Assistant, with the goal of facilitating adoption of data stewardship best practices by researchers and institutions. We are looking for a committed and knowledgeable DMP Specialist. As a member of UAL’s research data management portfolio, you will design, develop and implement solutions that support UAL, UA researchers, and the Alliance’s commitment to RDM and DMP best practices. You will be working on projects that focus on user experience, accessibility, sustainability, iterative development, and enhancing the RDM ecosystem. You will be collaborating with working groups and committees, including the Alliance’s Data Management Planning Expert Group (DMPEG), on development and delivery of DMP resources. The Incumbent(s) will have the opportunity and expectation to be an active member of those communities.
