A leading fleet equipment company in Calgary is looking for a Data Analyst to collect and analyze large datasets and develop dashboards using Tableau and Power BI. We are looking for candidates with proven experience as a Data Analyst or in a similar role, showcasing a robust portfolio of completed projects. Proficiency in data visualization tools like Tableau and Power BI is essential. A strong command of SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle) for data querying and database management is required, along with programming skills in R and Python for statistical analysis and automation tasks. Familiarity with VBA for Excel automation is also important. Candidates should have experience with Agile project management methodologies and SDLC processes. Strong analytical abilities to interpret complex datasets effectively, along with business analysis expertise to gather requirements and develop actionable insights, are crucial. Knowledge of database design principles and experience with large datasets is expected. Familiarity with Bash (Unix shell) scripting is a plus. Excellent communication skills are needed to clearly present findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
In this role, I will collect, clean, and analyze large datasets to reveal trends, patterns, and insights that align with our business objectives. I will develop interactive dashboards and reports using Tableau, Power BI, and VBA to enable data-driven decision-making. Collaboration with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies will be vital to deliver projects on time and within scope. I will design and maintain databases utilizing Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and other database management systems. My tasks will also include performing data modeling, database design, and optimization for efficient data storage and retrieval. I will conduct business analysis to understand stakeholder requirements and translate them into technical specifications. Supporting the entire SDLC process for data projects, from planning through deployment and maintenance, will be my responsibility. Additionally, I will utilize R, Python, Bash (Unix shell), and Visio for scripting, automation, process modeling, and analysis tasks. Managing project timelines using project management best practices while ensuring quality standards are met will also be part of my duties.
