A leading financial services provider in Montreal is seeking an experienced data governance advisor to help enhance data quality management processes. You will advise teams and facilitate workshops, ensuring best practices in data governance for the organization. The role demands a bachelor's degree in a related field, and knowledge of BI tools. Desjardins Group is aiming to accelerate how data quality is improved as a strategic tool. This is to further ground our business practices in data and analytics. The Data Quality Practice Department is looking for talent to guide Desjardins as it grows in this area. As a data governance advisor, you help define and implement data quality management processes, allowing optimal and secure use of data for the benefit of members and clients, with compliance rules, privacy policies and security in mind. You serve as a data quality specialist advisor and subject matter expert for various practitioners, as well as a resource person for decision-making bodies. You interact with many practitioners working in a wide range of fields. Interpersonal savvy, initiative and a keen desire to learn are therefore essential qualities for this role.
Advise data producers and users to understand the importance of data quality to help ensure sound governance and for the benefit of members and clients.
Advise and train teams on how to properly apply and develop processes for managing data quality issue.
Simplify the concepts related to data governance and data quality to promote a shared understanding and help practitioners understand best practices.
Participate in workshops to help sectors identify and document critical data quality issues and help them implement adapted solutions.
Have a positive impact on the other person’s thought process by encouraging them to question their current practices and consider making long-term improvements.
Help practitioners develop a shared vision of data governance by engaging them on shared objectives and demonstrating the added value of proposed initiatives.
Help your team’s product owners and senior advisors define the vision, prioritize initiatives and foster practitioner engagement.

Bachelor’s degree in business intelligence, information technology, statistics or a related field
A minimum of six years of relevant experience in data quality or in another field such as data governance, business intelligence, business analytics, artificial intelligence, data architecture or data analytics
Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered
Project management experience
Knowledge of French is required
Knowledge of BI analysis tools and/or data governance
Knowledge of data quality control techniques and mechanisms
Knowledge of artificial intelligence and interest in use cases applied to data quality
Knowledge of frameworks, policies and regulations governing the management, use and/or sharing of data
Interpersonal Savvy, Strategic mindset
