Job Description

We are seeking a skilled contract Data Engineer to support a major operational technology program working for KZenEdge as an integrated team member for an oil and gas owner/operator. Reporting to the KZE Project Manager, this role involves designing, building, and maintaining robust data infrastructure and pipelines to support critical oil and gas pipeline operations and analytical processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL processes for operational technology systems
  • Build and maintain data warehouses and data lakes using cloud platforms (Azure/AWS)
  • Implement data integration solutions connecting various operational systems and databases
  • Optimize database performance and ensure data quality, governance, and security protocols
  • Collaborate with Data Analysts and cross-functional teams to support data-driven initiatives
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Knowledge of oil and gas pipeline operations and SCADA systems
  • Experience with real-time data streaming and IoT sensor data
  • Understanding of energy industry data standards and regulatory requirements
  • Familiarity with Python, R, or other programming languages for data processing
  • Automation of data workflows using tools like Azure Data Factory, SSIS, or similar platforms
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
  • Approximately 10 years of experience in data engineering, database design, and ETL development
