Job Description

We are looking for a Data Engineer for an innovative new AI initiative.

Full-time and freelance opportunities are available, with positions starting immediately. You should have a minimum of 6 years of experience building scalable data pipelines and infrastructure.

You are passionate about enabling data-driven decision making and have experience with modern cloud data platforms.

You understand the importance of data quality, governance, and accessibility.

Responsibilities
  • Design and implement scalable data pipelines on cloud platforms (GCP preferred).
  • Build and maintain ETL/ELT processes for ingesting data from multiple enterprise sources.
  • Develop data models and schemas that support AI/ML workloads and analytics use cases.
  • Ensure data quality through validation, monitoring, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to prepare and optimize datasets for model training and inference.
  • Implement data governance practices including lineage tracking, cataloging, and access controls.
  • Optimize query performance and manage costs across data infrastructure.
  • Support real-time and batch data processing requirements for the platform.
Qualifications
  • +6 years of professional experience in data engineering.
  • Strong proficiency with cloud data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Storage, or equivalent).
  • Expert knowledge of SQL and experience with data modeling best practices.
  • Experience with Python for data processing and pipeline development.
  • Familiarity with Databricks or similar unified analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity with Apache Beam, Apache Spark, or similar distributed processing frameworks.
  • Understanding of data warehousing concepts (dimensional modeling, slowly changing dimensions).
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect, or similar).
  • Knowledge of streaming data architectures and event-driven patterns.
  • Experience with data quality frameworks and testing methodologies.
