Job summary

Compunnel, Inc. is seeking a Data Engineer to contribute to core infrastructure across Sybase, DB2, MSSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, and Azure SQL. You will help design, optimize, and migrate data platforms while supporting Data-Mart initiatives and BI tooling.

The role requires 3+ years of relevant experience, Python scripting, and a solid foundation in Unix/Linux. You will work in a collaborative, Agile environment with teams across IT and QA to ensure resilient data solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of relevant experience in data engineering or database development.
• Intermediate knowledge of RDBMS and MongoDB technologies.
• Scripting in Python required.
• Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize databases across Sybase, DB2, MSSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, and Azure SQL.
• Contribute to core infrastructure projects and RDBMS evaluations.
• Perform performance tuning, platform migrations, and version upgrades.

Client Division, is responsible for maintaining, distributing, and reporting on trading, revenue, risk, and reference data. Within TEDRA, the ITARA Practice Area supports trade data extraction, Data-Mart creation, reporting, and high-performance BI platforms. The Reference Data Development Team is seeking a Data Engineer to contribute to core infrastructure development across Sybase, DB2, MSSQL, and emerging platforms such as MongoDB, Snowflake, and Azure SQL.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and optimize databases across Sybase, DB2, MSSQL, MongoDB, Snowflake, and Azure SQL
• Contribute to core infrastructure projects and strategic RDBMS evaluations
• Perform performance optimization, testing, platform migration, and version upgrades
• Support data engineering initiatives including Data-Mart creation and BI platform development
• Collaborate cross-functionally with IT, R&D, supplier development, and quality teams
• Participate in Agile discussions, expressing technical views and listening to others
• Ensure resiliency and quality in fast-paced Agile environments

Required Qualifications

• At least 3 years of relevant experience
• Intermediate knowledge of RDBMS and NoSQL (MongoDB) technologies
• Scripting knowledge in Python
• Basic knowledge of Unix/Linux operating systems

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of data modeling concepts
• Experience with version control (Git preferred)
• Familiarity with ETL tools such as Talend or Informatica
• Knowledge of replication systems
• Experience with Agile practices and geographically dispersed teams
• Personal attributes: integrity, ownership, teamwork, motivation to expand technical and business knowledge
