Job summary

Collabera is seeking a Data Center Technician in Varennes, QC for a 6-month contract. The role involves proposing and implementing operational improvements, conducting technical inspections, and collaborating with global teams to maintain reliability standards.

Ideal candidates will have 1 year of experience or a master's degree in electrical or engineering, with knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems. Strong communication skills in English and French are required.

First Aid training is mandatory and can be completed during the first month.

Job description

Job Title: Data Center Technician
Duration: 6 Months
Location: Varennes, QC
Pay Range: $22-$26/HR CAD

Day to day responsibilities

• Propose and implement cost-effective, sustainable operational improvements.
• Conduct detailed technical inspections to ensure equipment performance, health, and safety.
• Collaborate with global teams to maintain client data center reliability standards.
• Work on generators – inspections, checking oil fuel.
• Preventative maintenance on a monthly basis.
• Familiar with automatic switch transfer.
• Monthly maintenance of air handling units – understand how evap mode works, how air handling works, how it cools down equipment.
• Controlled air handling units.

Must-haves

• 1 year of experience or a master's degree in electrical or engineering.
• Knowledge of electrical systems (low and medium voltage) and mechanical systems (HVAC, cooling/heating, medium voltage systems, ventilation, transfer switches, breakers, bus bars, generators, control modules, PLCs – programmable logic controller, relays, instrumentation concepts).
• Strong communication skills in English and French.
• First Aid training completed in Quebec (must be certified) – can be completed first month after joining.
