The Site Operations Manager will oversee daily operations of the data center and ensure work is done safely, on time and within budget, and adhere to quality standards. The Site Manager will supervise and manage a team of 3-8 direct reports, including but not limited to Operations Technicians. They identify risks with each Data Center project, perform qualitative and quantitative risk analysis, and perform risk responses and control risks. Comply with OSHA standards related to Health and Safety in Data Center environment.

Essential Functions
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates the implementation and maintenance of data center / technical space critical facility infrastructure (power, cooling, safety) systems and subsystems with concurrence of management.
  • Plans, schedules, and coordinates the moves/adds/changes of computing elements (server, storage & network hardware).
  • Provide operational support for sales, Centersquare Service Center and Tier II by providing documentation such as one-line drawings for electrical and mechanical equipment.
  • Maintain and update documentations and drawings for security system, BMS and Network diagrams.
  • Support Centersquare Network team on installations drawings.
  • Coordinates and interfaces with change management, business clients, application support and other operations personnel.

Strategic Planning
  • Strategic Planning: Executing the infrastructure operations support component of new data center launches, and existing data center expansions.
  • Leadership: Building an excellent customer relationship. Strong customer service. Knowledge of stakeholder analysis. Interfaces directly with customers, sales, and solution center engineers. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures. Responsible for on-site management of the local IDC operations and building engineering team on delivery of all aspects of data center services and activities. Leads IDC operations, security and building engineering teams to maintain critical building infrastructure, and data center operation. Leads Data Center tours for potential clients, supports sales and marketing organizations. Accountability for meeting and exceeding operational goals. Appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; resolve problems; and address staffing needs.
  • Budget Management: Knowledgeable in Capital and Capital Expend budget planning. Responsible for securing quotes, funding and on time approving of invoices.
  • Operations Management: Experience in Project Management, Technical knowledge and know-how of the Server, Storage and Networking Components deployment. Understanding the networking components, current future layouts for the technical centers; Familiarity with the Data Center industry standards. Develop procedures to bring servers and networking components back up; Develop and perform Business Continuity Planning and Disaster Recovery Procedures to restore the entire Data Center back online. Accommodate the needs from request coming from upstream, availability capacity/ planning future. Space and floor planning utilizing Visio and other company provided tools. Experience in power capacity management for existing clients and accommodate the needs for future clients. Experience in planning the Data Center Cooling Management. Understanding of ASHRAE standards. Experience in network capacity planning and management. Understanding of TIA standards for Horizontal Structural Cabling Systems. Develop and implement Building Emergency Plans. Manage Physical Access Control, Camera policies, Conduct Security Audits. Develop Monthly, Quarterly and Annual. Maintenance Plan that includes Power Maintenance, Planning Maintenance activities, 52-week plan. Understanding proper data center/technical space layout. Understand how HOT aisle COLD aisle, understanding how servers work with heating and cooling. Understanding of the emerging technologies such as Virtualization, VOIP and Cloud Computing, Understanding the impacts of virtualization on the Data Center Design and Management. Project management, customer provisioning and installation.
  • Vendor Management: Performance management of key vendors such as outsourced service providers, Build-To-Suit, and maintenance vendors in line with company goals.
  • Process Management: Develop and update Centersquare Data Center Standards using industry best practices and standards. Familiar with IT and Data Center Industry Standards, i.e., TIA, NFPA, ASHRAE, and IEEE, and local codes.
  • Superior verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Collaborate with executive-level management in the development of performance goals and long-term operational plans.
  • Extremely proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

Must be available for on call 24/7.

Travel

Multi-Site Coverage as needed.

Required Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in operations management, or engineering, or Information Technology or 5 years related field experience.
Additional Eligibility Qualifications
  • CDCMP or other Data Center Operations Management Certification preferred.
  • Familiar with PCI, SOC, and ISO 27001 industry audits.
  • Hands on experience with industry audit practices.
