Data Analyst (IT Specialist I-IV)

The Data Analyst (IT Specialist I-IV) will play a key role within our Digital Technology Analytics team, leveraging data to enhance the development and delivery of IT solutions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, a deep understanding of IT systems, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights that contribute to the success of our projects.

Key functions include:
  • Requirements Analysis
    Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements for IT solution projects. Define data specifications and ensure alignment with project objectives.
  • Data Integration and Transformation
    Work closely with the development team to integrate and transform data from various sources. Ensure data quality and consistency throughout the solution development lifecycle.
  • Data Modeling
    Design and implement data models to support IT solution architecture. Collaborate with database administrators to optimize data storage and retrieval.
  • Quality Assurance
    Conduct data validation and verification to ensure the accuracy of information within IT solutions. Work with QA teams to establish and execute data testing strategies.
  • Reporting and Documentation
    Create and maintain documentation related to data processes and integrations. Generate reports and dashboards to communicate data insights to stakeholders.
  • Collaboration with IT Teams
    Work closely with software developers, system architects, and other IT professionals to understand data dependencies and requirements. Provide data-related support during the development and deployment of IT solutions.
  • Data Security and Compliance
    Ensure that data handling within IT solutions complies with security and privacy regulations. Implement measures to safeguard sensitive data.
Our ideal teammate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Data Science, Information Systems or a relevant discipline.
  • Two years of experience as a Data Analyst within an IT environment.
  • Combined with:
    • Proficient in data analysis tools and programming languages (ie. SQL, R, Python).
    • Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI, SAP Analytics Cloud).
    • Strong understanding of database management systems and data warehousing.
    • Familiarity with IT solution development methodologies (ie. Waterfall, Agile).
    • Ability to work collaboratively in a dynamic, cross functional environment.
    • Excellent communication, collaboration, problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
    • Detail oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and integrity.
Experience or knowledge of the following would be considered assets:
  • Experience with cloud-based data solutions (e.g., AWS, Azure, Fabric/Power BI Premium, GCP).
  • Previous involvement in IT solution delivery projects.
  • Strong understanding of digital technologies, trends, and best practices.
  • Experience with machine learning and predictive modeling for digital applications.
  • Experience with analyzing large and complex datasets.

An equivalent combination of training and experience may be considered. Subject to competition response, the minimum qualifications may be modified.

An Eligibility List generated from this competition may be used to fill future vacancies at the same level within a period of up to 12 months.
