The Opportunity

Over the past several years, TFSS has been advancing a digital transformation to strengthen data management, modernize its technology architecture, and equip staff with the tools needed to support insight-driven decision-making.

As the organization continues to grow, TFSS is seeking a Data Analyst (1-year contract) to support the effective management, analysis, and communication of data to inform strategy, demonstrate impact, and support day-to-day operations. Working closely with the Digital Transformation & Services Director and leadership across the organization, you will support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of data analytics and reporting solutions.

In this role, you will translate business and program needs into meaningful insights, dashboards, and visualizations, using an Agile-influenced approach that balances technical rigour with usability, change management, and organizational impact. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Partner with stakeholders to assess business needs for digitally enabled processes, data analytics, and reporting.
  • Analyze and document business and data requirements, including user stories and functional specifications.
  • Design and maintain data models, reports, dashboards, and impact visualizations.
  • Translate complex data into clear, compelling insights to support strategic and operational decision-making.
  • Support the design, testing, and continuous improvement of digital solutions.
  • Collaborate with the project management office to prioritize user stories and solution enhancements.
  • Ensure regulatory and privacy compliance when working with sensitive personal and organizational data.
  • Train and support staff in the effective use of data tools and reporting solutions
  • Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards to support program, finance, fundraising, and operational reporting.
  • Perform routine data validation and quality checks across systems to ensure reporting accuracy and reliability.
  • Maintain clear documentation for reports, dashboards, and data processes to support consistency and knowledge sharing.
  • Help teams adopt new technology and support the existing technology implementation of Microsoft Office 365, Power Apps, Dataverse, Power Automate, Power BI, and Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge, to ensure accurate data management and effective reporting across the organization.
  • Occasional travel to TFSS sites, meetings, and events to support teams in data collection, troubleshooting, training, and collaboration, as required.
  • Assist with other IT projects as required.
Education and Experience
  • 1–3 years of relevant experience in data analysis, business analysis, reporting, or a related role
  • Post-secondary education in data analytics, information systems, business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and advanced knowledge in Excel is required.
  • Experience developing reports, dashboards, and visualizations using Power BI
  • Familiarity with low-code/no-code platforms such as Microsoft Power Apps, Dataverse, and Power Automate
Desired Skills and Attributes
  • Writing Skills: to create clear and consistent procedures to formalize business processes and to document analyses and track solutions.
  • Detail-oriented: it is essential to provide quality work at every stage of the process and to be organized.
  • Creativity: Creativity is encouraged to find solutions that will simplify the process, which will support operations, and maximize the use of tools.
  • Excellent communication skills: the analyst must be able to express ideas clearly to transmit the business requirements, operational, and functional requirements to development teams
Assets
  • Experience working with CRM and/or financial systems such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge and Financial Edge or Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an asset.
  • Working knowledge of Agile project methodology is an asset
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is an asset
