Job Overview

We’re looking for a Data Analyst to join our Data Team. The Data Team ensures that the business has access to reliable and actionable data to inform product development and meet business objectives. In this role, you will work with the Engineering Department to collect, model, and analyze data, help the company become more productive and profitable, and transform raw data into usable models. This is a remote position and can be performed from anywhere in Canada.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with project stakeholders and the data team to design and build scalable, user‑friendly systems for our customers.
  • Build and test data models using SQL and dbt.
  • Expose high‑quality and documented data sets to end users through our BI tool.
  • Debug data quality issues as they arise.
  • Work with stakeholders such as Product Managers, Product Analysts, and Developers, providing ad‑hoc analyses.
  • Follow proper data architecture and development paradigms.
  • Discuss strategy and outline trade‑offs of potential software solutions.
  • Perform data analysis to support external teams.
  • Participate in Scrum ceremonies.
Requirements
  • University degree or college diploma in a recognized technical, vocational or academic program (preferably in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering or Computer Science) or equivalent work experience.
  • 4+ years of working experience with SQL.
  • 2+ years of working experience with dbt (data build tool).
  • Experience with a cloud data warehouse (e.g., Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery).
  • Experience with a BI Tool and creating data visualizations (e.g., Looker).
  • Experience turning data into actionable insights.
  • Experience building analytical data models.
  • Able to communicate efficiently with stakeholders, both verbally and written.

  • Experience working as part of a data team.
  • A background in Statistics.
  • Experience working with and assisting data consumers.
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.
  • Experience with Python.
  • Experience with prompt engineering.
  • Prior Insurance domain knowledge.
