Overview

The Data Solutions Team, which primarily focuses on Manulife Canada's retirement data within Global Wealth and Asset Management, is seeking an analytical, proactive, and strategic thinker to join their team as a Data Analyst. Reporting to the director of Data Solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for extracting, managing, structuring and analyzing data used by Manulife's group retirement solutions. This role supports both existing and new initiatives and measures their long‑term benefits to the business. Additionally, the candidate will play a crucial role in promoting data usage and availability, suggesting improvements, and supporting multiple data feeds.

Position Responsibilities
  • Build and manage data feeds for the Group Retirement systems (MPS, Salesforce and more)
  • Continually evolve understanding of information available in systems by working with key users of those systems.
  • Support various business partners with data solutions that relate to key initiatives and test‑and‑learn activities
  • Develop automation processes to extract, transform, and load the data to be used for customer behaviours and insights, ensuring data integrity and quality
  • Produce dynamic reports (using data warehouse) highlighting customer insights to better drive sales, facilitate sales campaigns, and to be used in statistical analysis to identify key areas of opportunity across various inside sales teams
  • Ad hoc automation, data extraction, and reporting projects as required
  • Support the team in other activities: strategy, prioritization, data solutions, etc.
Required Qualifications
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field / experience
  • 5 years’ experience or more in a data analysis/data engineering role is preferred
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL (SSMS), Databricks
Preferred Qualifications
  • General knowledge of SSIS and/or other analytics languages (R, Python) would be an asset
  • Expertise toward Canada retirement product.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Power Bi
  • Familiar with Microsoft azure product
  • Back‑end knowledge of Manulife administrative system MPS (schema, tables, location of data points, process flow)
  • Excellent analytical and problem‑solving skills
  • Ability to work both independently and closely with other squad members
  • Proactive and inquisitive mindset, constantly looking for ways to improve existing processes and streamline activities
  • Superior organizational skills: demonstrated ability to take initiative and establish priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal + written)
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Good project management skills
  • Aptitude to accurately identify problems, assess business impact and suggest alternate courses of actions
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is an asset. If the successful candidate is in Québec, proficiency in both languages will be required to support clients from various provinces outside of Quebec.

Salary and Working Arrangement

Referenced Salary Location: Montreal, Quebec

Working Arrangement: Hybrid

Salary range is expected to be between $69,750.00 CAD - $116,250.00 CAD. The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job‑related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training. Employees also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn incentive compensation tied to business and individual performance.
