Job summary

A local dance studio in Oshawa is looking for skilled dance instructors to join for the 2025-2026 season. Ideal candidates should have a passion for working with children, experience in various dance styles, and excellent communication skills. Positions begin July 2025 with responsibilities including teaching age-appropriate dance programs in a safe environment. Certifications in ADAPT, RAD, or BATD are beneficial but not required.

Job description

The Dance Edge is located in North Oshawa. We are growing and seeking additional instructors to join our team for the 2025-2026 dance season. Seeking weekly versatile and well-rounded instructors for both our recreational and competitive team programs.

We are looking for dance professionals who are willing to grow with our studio and share in the joys of recreational and competitive level dance education. Positions available starting as soon as July 2025 for summer programs. Full season commences September 8th 2025 and runs into June 2026. Competitive choreography can start as soon as July 2025.

VERSITLE INSTRUCTOR – Ideal Candidate:
– Loves working with children of all ages.
– Educated, passionate, enthusiastic, experienced, committed.
– Multiple discipline dance training and teaching experience is an asset; lyrical, hip hop, musical theatre, Jazz, and Tap.
– Someone who is looking for further opportunities in employment within the studio and their training and education.
– ADAPT, RAD, BATD, Acrobatic Arts certifications are an asset, not required.
– Passion for fostering discipline, dedication, and artistry in young dancers.
– Students studying dance in a post-secondary institution are welcome to apply.
– Experience in childcare, child development, and early childhood education is an asset, not required.
– Excellent communication skills, responsible, detail oriented.

What You Will Be Doing:
– Teaching dance! Recreational and competitive level program positions are available. Age-appropriate programming. Instructing with excitement to engage and motivate students of all ages.
– Create a safe and inclusive classroom.
– Communicate in a timely and effective manner with all staff.
– Attend studio events recommended: competitions, photo day, recitals, etc.
